Allison Elgersma

Hi everyone, I’m Allison! 

My parents tried to slow down my puzzling as a preschooler by mixing together multiple puzzles, so I guess I’ve been a speed puzzler my whole life! I was inspired to start speed puzzling after Worlds 2023 and made my competition debut at Canadian Nationals 2024. I’m incredibly proud of my second-place team finishes at both Nationals and Eastern Regionals in 2025, and my 30th-place pairs finish at Worlds!

I also love to share competitive speed puzzling with those around me, travelling with my box of mini puzzles, challenging family and friends to race and increase their standing in the ‘Allison Factor’ bracket.

Behind the scenes, I’m a spreadsheet maniac with a spreadsheet for almost everything puzzling related. I’ve had a ton of fun creating the BYOP badge system and the CSP results templates. If your puzzle tracker needs a formula fix, definitely hit me up!

Outside of puzzling, you can find me making playlists (including speed puzzling playlists!) or lost in the world of a good book!
